This series captures the moment when seemingly dead branches erupt into life and the dull soft colours of winter become flushed with lime and yellow; the tangled forms of hedges pop with tiny green buds.This series of small paintings are created from drawings I made out and about in Rutland early last year. It was cold and sometimes raining while I was working outside but I love the winter landscape and the weather just adds to the experience and sharpens the drawing!
