Falling Autumn leaves is the inspiration for this piece, “Leaf Arabesque” in mild steel.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The sculpture combines the contrasts of falling and balancing to create a fragile equilibrium.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Watching the leaves fall every year prompts in me reflections on the passing of time and life experiences.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As my children grow up becoming more independent and we all get older I’m aware that my role is constantly changing as mother, daughter and wife.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My reflections on the Autumn season are often melancholy; happy memories for which I am so grateful mixed with feelings of sadness and loss.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Leaf Arabesque is about readjustment, accepting the natural cycle of life whilst keeping the equilibrium. I hope to inspire feelings of growth development and reflection.⠀
