This small oil painting is part of a series of micro-landscapes.

The subject was a small portion of a drawing called “Autumn Tree”.

In this painting the gestural marks and colours of the original drawing are recreated and amplified.

The title comes from the song by The Mamas & the Papas, California Dreamin’ which I had in my head while I was working
