These paintings are based on the beautiful gardens of Redhill Lodge in Rutland. I was kindly invited by the garden designer and owner, Sue Moffitt and her husband Richard to make drawings in their garden during the summer or 2021.

The paintings are about an area or the garden which I love, called the Prairie garden. The thriving range of flowering perennial plants compliment and enhance each other creating a living tapestry of colour

In this collection of oil paintings, based on my drawings , I use layers of colour and brushwork which capture the swathes and drifts of planting to recreate the immersive experience of the garden.

Redhill Lodge Gardens are open during the summer months through the National Garden Scheme, to visit go to NGS Rutland.
